Kalaiselvan earned a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G. R University India. He has been practicing as an Occupational Therapist since 2007. Kalaiselvan has worked across different disability sectors in Singapore including mainstream schools both in primary and secondary education, Voluntary Welfare Organisation’s, and in community settings for over eight years.
His interest is in developmental disabilities and early intervention, with a focus on a child-led and family-centred approach. As a MOHO (Model of Human Occupation) – based therapist, he advocates occupation-based treatment approaches, and applies the most appropriate approaches in the areas of Sensory Integration-based therapy, routines-based intervention and play.
He likes to keep his sessions lively and enjoys spending time with young children. He has a strong belief in intervention that is child-led and family-centred. He prefers to understand children through play and observations in their natural environments.
He is fluent in English and Tamil languages.
